Paul Joseph Baloche is a well-known American Christian music artist and worship leader. Apart from being a singer and songwriter, Paul Baloche was also the worship pastor at Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale, Texas for 26 years. His inspiring and soulful music combines instruments such as piano and acoustic guitar. Paul and his wife Rita left Texas and moved to New York City in January 2015. They did so to be closer to their family. Rita is also a Christian songwriter. 

Early Life

Paul Baloche was born in a Catholic family on June 4th, 1962, in Camden, New Jersey. Paul spent most of his childhood in Camden. The singer and songwriter started to gain interest in music after being introduced to the Beatles. During his school days, Paul learned how to play the guitar. He later went on to study music at the Groove School of Music in Los Angeles. Soon after, he became a worship pastor at the Community Christian Fellowship Church in Lindale, Smith County, Texas. From 1989 up until 2015, Paul served as a workshop pastor in the church.

Music Career of Paul Baloche 

Paul Baloche released his first album “He is Faithful” in 1992. Some of his popular songs include “Hosanna”, “Open the Eyes of My Heart”, “Today is the Day”, “Above All” and more. Throughout his music career, Paul has won several awards including several Dove Awards. “Above All” was also nominated in both 2002 and 2003 for Dove Awards “Song of the Year”. Paul was also nominated for Songwriter of the Year in 2002. He also won several awards for his popular track “A New Hallelujah”. Featuring Michael W. Smith and his wife. 

Apart from releasing several stellar tracks throughout his music career, Paul is a pioneer in providing instructional resources for several church worship teams. These resources include “The Worship Guitar Series” a set of three videos, released in 1995. “The Modern Worship Series” a set of eight instructional DVDs was released by Paul between 2002 to 2006. With a strong desire to help the community, he has released several books and resources for worship singers and songwriters. Apart from his musical endeavors, Paul is one of the writers for CompassionArt. A charity founded by Martin Smith from popular English contemporary Christian band Delirious?.
